Well with Half Term coming up just call, email or facebook us and let us know if you´ll be out as there will be lots of courses and ride outs – including, by popular demand, a jumping course and our Half Day Ride Outs to Ludo with lunch a A Colina. It is really important that we know in advance the dates when you are coming on holiday and what you would like to do so that we can organise a schedule to suit everyone.

NO PRICE INCREASE FOR 2010
With the worldwide economic crisis continuing and everyone having to tighten their belts a little more again this year, we have made the decision NOT to increase our prices for 2010 ... neither for riding nor accommodation.
Everything is the same as for 2009 ... Group lessons €35 per hour, Hacks and Treks €35 per hour, Half Day Ride Outs €85, Pony Club €50, 10 Hour Riding Card €300 and 5 Hour Riding Cards €170.
So, not only to you get the most professional training on well looked after horses, fantastic ride outs through the woods and along the salt flats, but you get the best value for money, too.
Although the costs of maintaining the facility are awesome we have managed to do this because of a new law that enables us, as we do equestrian tourism, to charge only 5% VAT (IVA) tax, so, thanks to that we are able to help you.
FANTASTIC NEW ACTIVITIES
As we are sure you are aware, we are always looking for new rides out ... and we have found a fantastic ride south through the Ludo Valley by the side of the salt marshes and lake, where you can see Flamingos and ducks, and with lots of sandy tracks and good cantering tracks.
We also have new ideas for lessons in the arenas ... including jumping courses for all levels and more dressage instruction.
However, these take quite a lot of planning and, as we have said earlier, we need to know that we have the client takeup for them in advance. So please try to help us give you the best rides possible by letting us know when you are going to be in Portugal and when you might like to ride, we can ensure we have a diverse plan in operation to suit all levels of riders.

RIDING FOR THE DISABLED IN THE ALGARVE
In November last year a new group joined the RDA from Existir in Loule. These riders are mentally disabled and have already started to show great progress in their riding and general social abilities.
RDA received fantastic publicity for all its work in the December issue of Good Life, with four pages of
pictures of some of the disabled riders and copy detailing some of the work undertaken with these riders at Pinetrees.
RDA continues to look for volunteers to help with the morning sessions ... to lead horses and help with the riders. You do not need to have experience with disabled people as Pinetrees does carry out regular basic trainingsessions.

One of the most popular shopping places for our riders is, of course, the local tack shop.
Very easy to find in Loulé (a charming town – always look up at the facades!), just ask for Farmácia Chagas. Stand in from of this chemist and look up the street on the left side of the building.There you will find Elisa´s shop. She also very kindly supports us when we have competitions by offering prizes for you to win . Don´t forget to ask for your EKILOULÉ voucher when you buy a Pinetrees 10 hour card. NATIONAL EQUESTRIAN SCHOOL
Pinetrees is a branch member of the National Equestrian School (ENE) in Portugal.
Instead of having one place for Portugal´s national school it prefers to have various places of excellence in different areas of the country. It is a great honour to be included and entitles us to hold training courses in conjuction with the ENE with recognised qualifications.
This February a recognised course of 44 hours was held for assistants in therapeutic riding.
CARNIVAL TRAINING COURSES
Next weekend is Carnival Time in Portugal and many of the schools are on holiday. Here, at Pinetrees, we are staging a week of training courses for all levels, both adults and children, starting with an Introduction to Riding for children on Saturday 13 February. HORSE NEWS
Much loved RDA pony, Duchess, has been extreemly lucky to find a kind and knowledgable retirement home with Robbie and Colin New, who live near Messines.
They have other horses and so Duchess will have nice company and a paddock and shelter shed. She has served us well and we hope she will have a long and healthy retirement.
We are looking out for quiet new pony, about 13h.h. To replace her, and big horse that can jump and is fun to ride out on.
ASTRAL NEW OWNER OF NAPOLEON
Napoleon is now very pleased to have the undivided attention of Astral Whitfield, who purchased him recently.
